Answer:

Option (d) x = 5, y = -20 is the correct answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

3x + 2y = - 25 ---(1)

- 2x - y = 10 ---(2)

Multiply by (2/3) of both sides of (1)

→ x(3*2/3) + (4/3)y = - 25(2/3)

→ 2x + (4/3)y = -50/3 ---(3)

Adding (3) and (2):

→ - y + (4/3)y = 10 - 50/3

→ - 3y + 4y = - 20

→ y = - 20

Hence,

→ - 2x - y = 10

→ - 2x = 10 - 20

→ - 2x = - 10

→ x = 5

Solution :-

3x + 2y = - 25 --------(1)

-2x -y =10----------(2)

Multiplying 2/3 by both sides with 1,

➜ x(3*(2/3) +(4/3y) = -25 (2/3)

➜ 2x + (4/3y) = - 50/3 ------(3)

Adding 2 and 3 we get,

➜ -y +(4/3y) = 10 -50/3

➜ -3 +4y = -20

➜ y = -20

Hence,

➜ -2x- y = 10

➜ -2x = 10-20

➜ -2x = - 10

➜ x = 5
