Example: sugar solution. A mixture that does not have uniform composition and properties throughout is called heterogeneous mixture. Example: oil in water mixture.

  • Pepper and salt is an ideal example of Heterogeneous mixture
  • Cement and water when mixed to make concrete, is an example of Heterogeneous mixture
  • Sand and sugar also come under this category
  • Cola filled with ice cubes form a Heterogeneous mixture as they do not have uniform properties and composition.
