Endogenic: The forces coming from within the earth and causing horizontal and vertical movements are known as endogenetic forces. It is these movements which lead to land upliftment and subsidence, folding and faulting, earthquakes and volcanism, etc. endo genetic movements are responsible for giving birth to major relief features such as mountains, plateaus, plains, valleys, etc. these endogenetic movements fall into two major catergories, on the basis of intensity.

Endogenic Forces :-
Mountains :- When two plates move towards each other, sometimes, one of them starts Pushing the other upwards. As a result, the crust starts getting pushed upwards to form mountains. The Himalayas were formed in this way.
Volcanoes :- A volcano is a vent (opening) in the earth's crust through which molten magma erupts suddenly.Magma erupts :-
- When two Plates move towards each other. The Plate that is pushed under the other Melts due to the heat, and the magma rises.
- when two plates move away from each other. The magma rises through the gap between the two Plates.
- When it heats up in Hotspots (hot areas inside the earth). This causes the magma to rise.
Earthquakes :- When two Plates slide against each other, the surface of the earth vibrates. These vibrations are called earthquakes.Earthquakes also occur when two plates move towards each other and collide.
