when the pollen grain lands on the stigma it has 2 male germ cells. then the pollen tube is created. when it reaches the ovary. ovary has 2 female germ cells. one is ovule(egg) and the other is synergist. One male germ cell fuses with the egg and the other will fuse with the synergist. This is known as double fertilisation. one fertilises to form the seed and the other for food
