EXOTHERMIC REACTION :-

The chemical reaction in which heat is which energy is released in the form of heat or light.

Examples:-

•CH4 + O2 → CO2 + H2O + Heat ( combustion of methane )

•C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O +

Energy ( respiration reaction )

ENDOTHERMIC REACTION :-

A chemical reaction in which heat is absorbed from the surrounding is called endothermic reaction.

Examples:-

•NH4Cl(s) + H2O(l) →NH4Cl(aq) – heat

•Na2S2O3.5H2O + H2O→Ns2SO3(aq) – heat

Hello Dost ☺

Answer :

Exothermic reaction and endothermic reaction:

On the basis of energy changes during chemical reaction, they can be classified as

i) Exothermic reaction: A chemical reaction in which heat energy is produced.

Eg : C + O2 → CO2 (g) + heat

ii) Endothermic reaction: A chemical reaction in which heat energy is absorbed.

Eg : CaCO3 + Heat → CaO + CO2

Thanks ☺
