Answer:

Property 3: Commutative Property

For example, 5 + 4 = 9 if it is written as 4 + 9 then also it will give the result 4. Similarly, the commutative property holds true for multiplication. But it does not hold true for subtraction and division.

\large\mathbf\red{WHAT\:IS\: COMMUTATIVE\: PROPERTY?}

Commuting means changing places.

The commutative property states that the numbers on which we operate can be moved from their position without making any difference to the answer. This property is applicable for Addition and Multiplication, but not for subtraction and division.

FORMULA :

  • For Addition , a+b =b+a
  • For Multiplication , a×b = a

EXAMPLES :

5 + 3 = 3+ 5

8 = 8

The commutative property of addition says that we can add numbers in any order .

5 × 9 = 9× 5

45= 45

The commutative property of multiplication says that we can multiply numbers in any order .
