I suspect you mean what are the duties of a lawyer but just in case you are asking for the legal duties of a citizen (in the United States), I was taught (about 65 years ago) that American citizens have three legal duties: to serve on a jury when called, to bring a weapon to serve on a posse when called, and to bring a weapon suitable for military use when called to serve in the militia.
Those seem to be old fashioned ideas now as many try to avoid jury duty, I haven’t heard of anyone being called to serve on a posse in years, and most sources now claim that militias exist to augment the National Guard.
