$\underline\text{Compound\:\: sentence}$:-

A compound sentence is one which is made up of two or more co-ordinate clauses.

Examples :-

• He went to the playground

• He played cricket

• He took lunch and went to his home

• The sun rose and we went out for a walk.

• She is lazy but her brother is active

• They got up and played football

$\underline\text{Complex\:\: sentence}$:-

It consists of one principal clause and one or more sabcordinate clauses principal clause is independent while the subordinate clause is dependent on the principal clause.

Examples :-

• This is a car which I need .

• This is the place where I met him

• although he is pure yet he is honest

• He got up when she came
