When a force is applied to a body and it moves in the direction of force, work is said to be done.

Work = Force x Distance

Examples of work done:-

i. Pushing a cart.

ii. Pulling a door.

(In both the cases, the objects should move)

When the distance or force is absent, work is not done.

Examples of work not done:-

i. Pushing a wall that doesn't move.(distance is not defined)

ii. Standing with a heavy bag.(distance is not defined)
