Excess of which acid in stomach causes acidity ? How can be this correct?

Answer:

Acidity occurs by hydrochloric acid ( Hcl ) present in our stomach which is produced by gastric glands. This can be corrected by taking antacids which are bases. These antacids neutralize the excess acid. Magnesium hydroxide (milk of magnesia ), a mild base, is often used for this purpose.
