Dialogue between teacher and student requesting for leave

[ Student enters the staff room]

Student: Excuse me ma'am, please may I come in?

Teacher: Yes come in. Anything important?

Student: I have a family urgency due to which I won't be able to attend school for the next few days. I request you to consider this.

Teacher: How many days to be precise?

Student: Approximately a week.

Teacher: Well that's a long time. You need to write a letter to the principal in that case.

Student: It's already too late and our principal is not here today.

Teacher: Without a leave letter, we can't grant you a leave.

Student: Okay ma'am, if you insist I shall write a letter now itself.

Thank you ma'am.
