Irrational numbers are non terminating and non recurring. Easy way in ur case is that check whether root 5 is a perfect square or not. Well here it is not. If it was root 4 then it would be rational as answer is 2. So hence root 5 is irrational as its values are non terminating and non recurring. In addition, it is not a perfect square.
