A garden is 90 m long and 75 m broad. A path 5 m wide is to be built outside and
around it. Find the area of the path. Also find the area of the garden in hectare.

For area of rectangle with path

Length=90+2×5

=100m

Breadth=75+2×5

=85m

Therefore

Area=100×85

=8500m^2

Area of path=Area of rectangle with path-Area of ground

=>8500m^2-6750m^2

=1750m^2

Now

Area of garden=6750m^2

1m^2=10000hectares

Therefore

6750m^2=6750/10000

=0.675 hectares
