Given :

• Length of a garden = 90 m

• Breadth of a garden = 75 m

• Width of the path which is to be constructed outside the garden = 5 m

To find :

• Area of the path

Solution :

Using formula,

Area of rectangle = l × b

where,

  • l = length
  • b = breadth

Substituting the given values,

→ Area of garden = 90 × 75

→ Area of garden = 6750

Therefore, the area of garden = 6750 m²

Dimensions of the garden including the path :-

→ Length = 90 + 5 + 5 = 100 m

→ Breadth = 75 + 5 + 5 = 85 m

→ Area of the garden including the path = l × b

→ Area of the garden including the path = 100 × 85

→ Area of the garden including the path = 8500

Therefore, area of the garden including the path = 8500 m²

Area of the path = Area of the garden including the path - Area of the garden

→ Area of the path = 8500 - 6750

→ Area of the path = 1750

Therefore,

  • The area of path = 1750 m²
