Exercise 1D 21 ASIC LEVEL If x is inversely proportional to y^3 and x = 50 where y= 2

(i) find the value of x when y = 4
(ii) find an equation connecting x and y (iii) calculate the value of y when x = 3.2.​

Equation is x=k.y3 where k is constant

put the values of x and y

50=k.8

k=25/4

So the equation becomes

x=(25/4)y^3 or 4x=25y^3

when y=4

x=(25/4).4^3=25×4^2=400
