1. A bakery sold 12650 milk biscuits, 15720 salt biscuits and 8400 cashew biscuits during
a month. What was the total number of biscuits sold? Estimate the sum by rounding
off to the nearest thousand. Also find the actual number.
2. There were 21347 people working in a university. Of these, 2850 were engaged in
research and 14650 were teaching. How many were engaged in other jobs?
3. Find the number which is 25728 more than 51850.
4. Find the number which is 16384 less than 33270.
AT HOME -
5. Around 11600 people visited a bird sanctuary over a month during peak season.
The same sanctuary had only around 2500 visitors during off-season. Find the
difference between the two numbers.
