1). If (2 x + y, 7) = (5, y - 3), find x and y.​

(2x + y , 7) = (5 , y - 3)

2x + y - y = 5 - 3 - 7

2x - y = 2 - 7

2x - y = -5

2x = -5 (I have taken y as 1 )

-1. (now , we will cancel the minus sign)

Therefore, 2x = 5

and x = 2.5 or 1

and y = 1
