⚾️ Grammer bites:
First of all, here are some sentences:
- Bear is a large animal.
- Elephant is larger than bear.
- Blue whale is largest of all
In sentence (1), large simply tells that bear is large without being compared to anyone. In sentence (2), larger tells that Elephant is taller in comparison with bear. In sentence (3), largest tells that blue whale is the largest of all other organisms.
❇ Thus, here we can see changes in between the forms of adjectives used for comparing the subjects. Here, large is in positive degree, larger is in comparative degree and largest is in Superlative degree.
- Positive degree (without any comparison)
- Comparitive degree (comparison between two)
