EXERCISE 20A
1. Find the volume, lateral surface area and the total surface area of the cuboid whose
dimensions are:
(i) length 22 cm, breadth
7.5 cm
= 12 cm and height
(ii) length 15 m, breadth = 6 m and height = 9 dm
(iii) length 24 m, breadth 25 cm and height
= 6 m
(iv) length = 48 cm, breadth = 6 dm and height = 1 m

Answer:

I) Volume = (22*7.5*12)

ans= 1980 cm³

lateral surface area = 2[(l+b) *h]

so, 2[(22+7.5)* 12]

ans = 708 cm²

total surface area = 2(lb+bh+lh)

so, 2 ( 22*7.5 + 7.5*12 + 12*22)

ans = 519 cm²

2) 15m = 150 dm

6 m = 60 dm

9dm

volume = 150*60*9 = 81000dm³

lateral SA= 2* 150+60*9 = 3780dm²

total SA= 2(150*60+60*9+9*150) = 21780dm²

now you can apply formulas and do the rest
