A majestic banyan tree stood proudly in a forest. He provided shade to the travellers. People who ressed
under the tree enjoyed the cool air and admired the tree. The numerous birds that built their nests on his
countless branches thanked the tree time and again

The admiration and appreciation which the banyan tree enjoyed made him arrogant. fie started shedding
dry leaves on travellers who would take sbeiter under it. He would suddenly sway his branches and scare
the young birds who would fly away helplessly with fear,
A delicate plant that grew at the foot of the tree observed all these ridiculous acts. She asked the tree to
stop such deeds as he was causing trouble to people who were grateful to him. The tree laughed and
criticized the plant, "Are you trying to advise me? You bend when the slightest breeze hits you. You cannot
stand yourself strongly like I do."
The plant sighed, "I do not grow so call like yon. So, I do not need to stand sturdy. I think I am safe the
way I am." The banyan tree sneered, "Who says you are safe? Do you know how deep my roots go into the
ground? Do you realize how strong my bark is? Nobody can make me bend like your the plant just ignored
the tree's comments.
A four days latere storm hit the forest A strong breeze uprooted the tree. He broke and fem lle guened
with pain. The little plant stood upright and survived. She had not got affected by the fury of the storm. She
wsaw the big tree suffer but was helpless. The villagers nearby found the fallen tree after the storm passed.
Thay cut him into big logs and cleared the place. He no more remained for the people and birds to admire.

1. the banyan tree expresses its arrogance by bullying passerbys and birds by shaking it's branches and scaring them off. it also assumes that it mightier than the small plant just because its roots go deeper.
