Steps to draw a perpendicular from a given point
- Draw a line segment of length 7cm
- Take any random point P on the line segment
- Take a compass and just take a radius of any unknown length
- Then put the pointer of the compass on P
- Make a semi-circle with it on P
- Now replace the point of the compass to and one side of the semi-circle which touches the line segment AB
- Make 2 arcs on each side of the line segment as shown in the attachment
- Now replace the pointer of the compass to the other side of the semi-circle and repeat the same step given above
- Now with the help of a scale align all the 3 points in a single straight line and draw a line on it
This line makes an angle of 90° with the point P
