Answer for i) Let the number of marbles Parmit have be m.

Thus, IrfN have 5m+7 marbles.

Equation- 5m+7=37

Solution- 5m+7=37

5m=37-7 ( 7 is transposed to RHS )

= 30

m= 30/5 ( 5 is transposed to RHS)

=6

Thus, Parmit has 6 marbles.

ii) Let Laxmi's age be l.

Thus, her father's age is 3l+4 years.

Equation

3l+4= 49

solution

3l+4 =49

3l=49-4

=45

l = 45/3

= 15 years

iii) Let the number of fruit trees planted be f.

Thus, non fruit trees are 3f+2= 77

equation

3f+2=77

solution

3f=77-2

= 75

f= 75/3

= 25

Thus, the no. of fruit trees planted is 25.

4) Riddle:

answer

Let the no. be x

equation

7x+50+40=300

solution

7x+50=300-40=260

7x = 260-50=210

x=210/7=30

Thus, the number is 30.
