EXERCISE- 4
No one can doubt that it is the duty of men and women to think not of their own interests
out of the interests of those who are dependent on them, that is, of the interests of the family.
Our country is but the great family to which we all belong. Men and women then should
remember that it is their duty to think of the interests of the country and should put its interests
above all others. We must not imagine, however, that by caring about our country and thinking
what is best for it, we shall run any risk of neglecting the interests of our families or of
ourselves. If we rightly understand our duty to ourselves and our families; and do that duty, we
shall at the same time be doing our duty to the mother of us all our country.
Word-meanings :- dependent on - to be relying on. run risk - to face danger.
neglecting --being careless, ignoring.
