जब रात्रि में मैं ऊपर के कमरे में सोया हुआ था तो टेलीफोन की घंटी बजी । मैं जाग गया। जैसे ही मैं टेलीफोन सुनने के लिए
जा रहा था तो मैंने दरवाजे के बाहर कुछ अजीब शोर सुना । ऐसा लगा जैसे कि कोई महिला रो रही हो और लोग उसकी समस्या
को जानने की कोशिश कर रहे हों । मैं शीघ्र ही दरवाजे की ओर गया तथा दरवाजा खोला । जब मैं भीड़ की ओर जा रहा था तो मैंने
देखा कि एक पुलिस की मोटरगाड़ी वहाँ आ गई । पुलिस को देखकर लोग इधर-उधर जाने लगे । वह महिला अब भी जोर-जोर
से चिल्ला रही थी । जब मैंने पूछा तो उसने अपनी दु:ख-भरी कहानी सुनाई । पुलिस वाले उस महिला को अपने साथ ले गये । मैं
भी दुःखी हदय से घर लौटा ।

Explanation:

While I was sleeping in the attic, the telephone bell rang. As soon as I went to attend the telephone, I heard a strange commotion out of the door. It seemed that a woman is weeping and the people were trying to know her problem. I rushed towards the door and opened it. While I was moving towards the crowd, I saw that a police van arrived there. Seeing the police, the people dispersed here and there. The woman was wailing so far. When I asked her, she told her sad tale. The policemen carried her with them. I also returned home with a sorry heart.
