Given :-

  • No. of sweets taken by Abdul was 40
  • He gave 8 sweets to each of his friends

To Find :-

  • No. of friends

Solution :-

❒  If Abdul had divided the sweets among his friends then ::

\sf \star \;\; Each\;friend\;had\;sweet=\dfrac{Total\;Sweets}{No.\;of\;friends}

➼ Let's put the values in order to find no. of friends .

\sf \leadsto 8 = \dfrac{40}{No.\;of\;friends}

\sf \leadsto 8 \times No.\;of\;friends = 40

\sf \leadsto No.\;of\;friends = \dfrac{40}{8}

\sf \leadsto No.\;of\;friends = 5

∴ There were 5 friends
