2x + (3x - 4) = x

2x + 3x- 4= x

5x-4 = x

5x- x = 4

4x = 4

x = 4/4

x = 1

Verification

2x + (3x - 4) = x

2(1) + (3(1) - 4) = 1

2 + (3 - 4) = 1

2 + (-1) = 1

2 - 1 = 1

1 = 1

Hence the solution of the given linear equation is 1 , and is verified.
