Exercise: Commas
Rewrite the following passage, inserting commas where necessary.
I remember that day very well. I took a message to Mr Lee my father's
oldest friend. His house which is old and spooky was very close to
where I lived. I walked along the path through his untidy overgrown
weedy front garden and feeling a little uncertain not to mention
slightly afraid I decided to knock on the door. Lifting the knocker I
banged it hard on the door. The sound which echoed throughout
the house seemed to hang in the air. There was no reply however so
I tried again. The door finally creaked open; peering out at me as if it
was a ghostly apparition was a withered bearded but kindly face. It said
in a shaky voice 'Can I help you?'
