Exercise
- Hariprasad's triangular field has sides of 90 m, 80 m and 70 m. How
much barbed wire will he need for fencing the field if he uses 3 lengths
of wire along each side?
How much will he have to pay for the wire if it costs Rs 50 per metre?

Given :-

Let the sides of the triangular field be a, b and c

Sides of the triangular field :-

  • a = 90m

  • b = 80m

  • c = 70m

Here, we've to find the length of barbed wire to fence the triangular field thrice.

So first of all, we needa find it's perimeter.

We know that,

Perimeter of a triangle = sum of all three sides

» Perimeter of triangular field = 90 + 80 + 70

= 240m

» Total length of barbed wire required to fence Hariprasad's triangular field thrice = 240 × 3

= 720m

He needs 720m to fence all the sides three times.

Now total cost of fencing @ rupees 50 per meter = 720 × 50

= Rupees 36000

Hence, Hariprasad has to pay Rs 36000

➟ Perimeter = Sum of All Sides

➟ Perimeter = (90 + 80 + 70) m

➟ Perimeter = 240 m

He wants to Fence Triangular Field Thrice ; So the Required Wire will be :

➨ (240 × 3) m

➨ 720 m

Cost of Fencing @ Rs.50 :

➻ 720 m × Rs. 50
