1. The employees have been promised more wages.

2. The team was awarded the first prize for sporting spirit.

3. The visitors will be shown the new buildings.

4. We were promised higher wages.

5. Each boy will be allowed a second helping of ice-cream.

6. Women are still denied the franchise in some contries.

7. What caused us no end of problems is the accurate bowling.

8. Suresh was refused a passport.

9. A nice Christmas gift is what we shall send our sister.

10. He was taught English and was given a dictionary.
