The first battle of Panipat was fought in north India on 21 April 1526, was fought between the invading forces of Babur and the Lodi Kingdom. It was a major victory for Babur over Sultan Ibrahim Lodi of Delhi, won during his fifth and final expedition into Hindustan. It marked the beginning of Mughal Empire.
