Sustainable development is the organizing principle for meeting human developmentgoals while at the same time sustaining the ability of natural systems to provide the natural resources and ecosystem servicesupon which the economy and society depend.
It has been suggested that "the term 'sustainability' should be viewed as humanity's target goal of human-ecosystem equilibrium (homeostasis), while 'sustainable development' refers to the holistic approach and temporal processes that lead us to the end point of sustainability".[1] The modern economies are endeavouring to reconcile ambitious economic development and obligations of preserving the natural resources and ecosystem, the two are traditionally seen as of conflicting nature. Instead of holding climate change commitments and other sustainability measures as a drag to economic development, turning and leveraging them into market opportunities will do greater good. The economic development brought by such organized principles and practices in an economy is called Managed Sustainable Development (MSD).

Exhaustion of natural resources is threat to natural resource because sustainable development is the concept of preserving the natural resources in such a way that it can be used by future generation. If the natural resources will be depleted by harmful human activities such as deforestation, mining or pollution than sustainable development could not be implemented.
The aim of sustainable development is is the development which satisfies the requirements of the present without endangering the capacity of future generations to satisfy their own demands and this will not be implemented without the preservation of natural resources.
