Answer: The plain regions of the Ganga-Brahmaputra basin are most suitable for farming because of the rich and fertile soil. Agriculture is the main occupation of the people residing here. While paddy is mainly grown in the region, other crops are wheat, maize, sorghum, millets and gram.
