⚫The forests prevent floods by the following ways:-

▶By intersecting the flow of rain drops, thus checking the flow of rainwater on the forest floor.

▶By absorbing rainwater and allowing it to seep under soil, thus recharging the water table.

▶The roots of the trees bind the soil and prevent it from being washed away.

☛☛Thus, forests hold the soil which in turn control the floods.
