Single covalent bond: when only one pair of electrons are shared btw a pair of atom.
Double covalent bond: When two electrons are shared btw atom rather than a pair.
Triple covalent bond: when 2 atoms are sharing three pair of electrons.

There is a mutual sharing of electrons in covalent bond. In single covalent bond, one electron is shared by each atom in the pair. Two mutual sharing of electrons in double covalent bond and three mutual sharing of electrons in triple covalent bond. For better understanding, I attach 3 pictures.
