- Growth hormone ( GH ) - Normal growth of body
- Thyroid stimulating hormone ( TSH ) - maintaining normal functioning of thyroid gland
- melanocyte stimulating hormone ( MSH ) - help in proper secretion of melanin
- Adrenocortico tropico hormone ( ACTH ) - normal functioning of adrenal gland
- Follicle stimulating hormone ( FSH ) and lutenising hormone ( LH ) - reproductive functioning in males and females
- prolactin - milk secreting hormone
In addition pitutary gland store 2 hormones - oxytocin ( milk ejecting hormone) and vasopressin ( ADH), which is actually produced by hypothalamus

- Location : Pituitary gland is located in the Brain near Hypothalamus.
- Hormones of Pituitary gland control functioning of many other Hormones, so it is known as Master Gland.
- It has two main parts : (1) Exterior part and (2) Posterior part
Some Hormones of Exterior part :
- GH ( growth hormone ) or STH ( somatotropic hormone ) : It controls development of Bones and muscles.
- TSH ( Thyroid stimulating hormone ) : It stimulates secretion of thyroxine hormone.
- FSH ( Follicle stimulating hormone ) : It helps in maturation germ cells in Female and male.
- LH ( Leutinizing hormone ) : It regulates secretion of progesterone in Females and testosterone in Males.
- MSH ( Melanocyte stimulating hormone ) : It controls color of Skin.
