look it is very conceptual and easy 
meiosis is the process when diploid cell gets haploid(the cell gets half) eg if cell is 2n on meiosis it will convert to n.
mitosis when it convert the haploid cell to diploid (doubles) eg if cell is n it would go mitosis and become 2n
