dipole moment :- system of two charge which magnitude are equal but sign are opposite , placed some distance , is called dipole .
and product of charge and distance between them is called dipole moment.

e.g let two charge +Q and -Q placed d distance .

-Q -------- +Q
===d ===

dipole moment = charge × distance
dipole moment = Q × d

in experimental :- it is used to find ionic character of componds ,

if ionic character given,
then, we find dipole moment theoritically by using -----

% ionic character ={ experimental dipole moment/ theoritical dipole moment } × 100
