Given,

An algebraic expression  (2a-3b-c)^{2}.

To Find,

The value of this algebraic equation.

Solution,

We can solve this using two following ways.

  • One is using the formula which is (a+b+c)^{2}=a^{2}+b^{2}+c^{2}+2ab+2bc+2ca.
  • Another is with the general method of assuming the first two sums to be one , like for(a+b+c)^{2}=((a+b)+c)^{2}=(a+b)^{2}+c^{2}+2(a+b)c.

Here we will solve using the formula.

So   (2a-3b-c)^{2}

=(2a)^{2}+(-3b)^{2}+(-c)^{2}+2(2a)(-3b)+2(-3b)(-c)+2(-c)(2a)

=4a^{2}+9b^{2}+c^{2}-12ab+6bc-4ac.

Hence, The simplified value of   (2a-3b-c)^{2} is 4a^{2}+9b^{2}+c^{2}-12ab+6bc-4ac.
