Square of a Trinomial

We know the expansion of square of a trinomial.

(a + b + c)² = a² + b² + 2ab + 2ac + 2bc + c²

Now, expansion of (4a-2b-3c)^2

⇒(4a-2b-3c)^2

⇒ (4a)² + (-2b)² + (-3c)² + 2(4a)(-2b) + 2(-2b)(-3c)+ 2(-3c)(4a)

⇒ 16a² + 4b² + 9c² - 16ab +12 bc - 24ca

Therefore, The expansion of (4a-2b-3c)^2 is 16a² + 4b² + 9c² - 16ab +12 bc - 24ca

Coefficient of a² = 16

Coefficient of b² = 4

Coefficient of c² = 9

Coefficient of ab = - 16

Coefficient of bc = 12

Coefficient of ac = - 24
