First take the number say 5 and with the decimal place group it in pairs.

From the decimal place to the right with zeroes and to the left is the number 5.

Next see which is the nearest number which divides 5. It is the number 2.

After dividing the remainder is 1.

Now add 2 (the quotient) on the left side near the divisor.

The number now obtained is 4_ as the divisor.

You have to fill the gap _.

So now bring the numbers down. There is no number before the decimal and so take the zeroes in pairs.

You get the number 100.

Now by trial see which number in 40's can divide it.

It is 42 x 2 = 84 is the nearest number.

So you write 2 in the gap and. 2 in the quotient.

Again add 2 i.e in the divisor on the left.

It becomes 44_

Now continue the division to get the root of the number.

Hope it helps you ☺️
