One day, the workman was tired of being captive, he decided to plan an escape. He made wings that were attached to the body by wax. He flew together with his son.
The workman warned the son not to go too close to the sun, but the son insisted, his wings melted and detached from his body making him fall and die. The workman survived the escape.
