A stitch in time saves nine

‘A stitch in time saves nine’ is a famous saying. The meaning of this axiom is if you take timely action to fix a problem, it will save you extra work. For example, if you have a small cavity in your molar and you don’t go to the dentist, then this cavity will keep increasing in size and you may have to get a root canal treatment. But if you go to the dentist in time and get it treated or filled timely, then you will save yourself the trouble of undergoing painful root canal treatment.

Man by nature loves to put off taking timely action. He usually puts off going to a doctor; going to gym or park for workout; or studying for the coming exams; as a result of the delay, he has to suffer and bear pain.

The wisdom hidden in the axiom encourages us to take timely action to avoid unnecessary pain and efforts. We must always take timely action. We must stitch our problems in time to save nine.
