The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

Once a cow named Gippsy with its friends kept feeding on vast meadow. The grass was so soft and green and the rain on the meadow last week had encouraged the land with even more grass than a regular day. Gippsy and her friends kept feeding and playing with one another on the vast meadow. One day a friend of Gippsy said look Gippsy the meadow on the other side of the fence seems greener than ours. Gippsy had thrown a view over the meadow and found that her friend was right.

Gippsy said to her friend yes the meadow on the other side of the fence looks greener always and I got a plan to cross the fence. Eyes of Gippsy’s friend widened when gippsy completed the sentence. She asked, are you going to cross the fence? It is insane, if you get caught then you will never make into our meadow. Gippsy said that is not a problem, are you coming with me or not? Gippsy’s friend refused her offering. So then I am going alone, Gippsy said. I never care anymore, said gippsy’s friend.

Gippsy jumped over the fence like a hurdle athlete. She started feeding on the meadow immediately after she landed on it. She kept feeding and feeding for more than an hour and suddenly she found that she had finished the entire meadow. There were no more tall grasses. She looked on her friends and found they were feeding on tall green grasses. She felt that the grasses on the other side of the fence are greener than the one she was standing. She felt stupid and realized the truth and returned back to her own meadow.

The phrase, “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence” is a statement of the fact that people are always quite quick to judge the situation of other people and to state that others are in a better position than they are themselves.

Everyone thinks that their problem is the greatest and thus others are living in a better position but the truth is not as simple as that.

You are not aware of what is going on in other people’s lives.

Someone might look like are in a better place but they might be suffering as much as the person who is judging.
