We know that,

(a + b + c)² = a² + b² + c² + 2ab + 2bc + 2ca

Using the above expansion, we get

(a - 3b + 5c)²

(a) ² + (-3b + (5c)² + 2 × (a) × (-3b) + 2 × (-3b) × (5c) + 2 × (5c) × (a)

a² + 9b² + 25c² - 6ab - 30bc + 10ac

Arranging according to the like terms, we get

⇝ a² - 6ab + 10ac + 9b² - 30bc + 25c²
