Expand it by suitable identity

(2x - 3y + z)²

SOLUTIOn

→ (2x - 3y + z)²

Apply identity :

(a + b + c)² = + + + 2ab + 2bc + 2ac

→ (2x)² + (-3y)² + (z)² + 2*2x*(-3y) + 2*(-3y)*z + 2*2x*z

→ 4x² + 9y² + z² - 12xy - 6yz + 4xz

SOMe IDENTITIEs

  • (a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab
  • (a - b)² = a² + b² - 2ab
  • a² - b² = (a + b)(a - b)
