In today’s world, people are so engrossed in their activities that they stopped bothering about the society. Imagine…. What if…. Someone takes away your child and forces him/her to work for somebody else rather than to play in the safety of their own… into acting like cattle in fields with dangerous chemicals…To beg on streets instead of playing with cars..!!!!! Can you imagine your child like this?? Can you bear it?

The prevalence of child labour reflects very badly on society .More than 160 million parents have to undergo this in India every year. 60 million children in India are forced into degrading jobs every year. The working children in India are mostly engaged in hotels, building sites, factories and in houses as domestic servants. Vast majority of child labour is found in rural areas. And this, is the largest number of child labourers in a developing country like INDIA which is approximately 6-7% of today’s population. Child labour is a very serious problem not only in India, but also in the other developing countries.

With head full of responsibility

And hands blistering,

They smile without happiness

Losing the loveliest shadow of Father

Thinking of a sick mother

They work day and night without any complains.

Child labor is defined as the exploitation of children in the form of work, either willing or unwilling. They were deprived of their childhood and not able to attend even the schools were they learn the lessons of life.

This is curse for today's world where a child lost the significance of childhood and indulged in doing all the work which one cannot imagine.

These childs are of 5 years to 14 years of age and work forcibly in the work field.

Most probable cause of Child Labor is Poverty and Unemployment. If the family is unable to earn more to feed themselves, they involve their children into the work force with them.

Due to this, the Poverty cycle never ends. Poor population cannot afford to make their children study even in the Government schools as they only equate children as "more hands to beg".

Next reason for the child labor is Children are lessly paid. The industries knew that if they emplloy children instead of Men they have to pay less to them and often out of profit making intention they do so.

There is need to eradicate the Child labor from the society as they are like termites which eats up all the beautiful moment of childhood from a Child.

In order to eliminate this, efforts need to be made in both Government and Public levels. If the education is available for free and people are guranteed by minimum wages, some how this can contribute to eradicate Child labor.
