What does Perseverance mean?
Perseverance implies continued effort and determination to attain a goal. Both are necessary for success does not fall into one's lap. One has to work for it. Great scientists like Marie Curie and Edison continued with their experiments even when though they faced many failures.Today, these names are well known and highly respected for their work.
Everyone is not born with a silver spoon in the mouth. One has to trudge and toil in order to reach the top. One has to be determined.
Determination involves making decisions about the goals that one wishes to achieve and having the will to pursue them. Neither talent nor intelligence is of much help if there is no perseverance.
Hence perseverance is the key to success. As has been so aptly said :Where there is a will there is a way. Perseverance involves persisting in one's task, having the patience to go on with it despite obstacles and failures and spending enough time to get the task done. Then only one one will achieve success.

"Perseverance is the Key to Success." The meaning of perseverance is the ability of not giving up even the work is impossible as the word itself says 'I' M Possible. There is no shortcut to excellence in any field. Shed all laziness and work hard because anything can be achieved by continuos hard work as one of the popular phrase" "Hard work always brings success" suggests. Perseverance is the key to all forms of success as nothing hardly could be achieved without right zeal. This story is not of my own but this will help me to understand the idea better :- Once upon a time, there was a boy who came to an Ashram of a Guru for education. He stayed there for some time with other pupils. As the boy was a slow learner the Guru took extra care of him to learn his lessons. But the Guru's efforts bore no fruits. The boy thought for a whole day finally he decided to give up. He said "Gurudev kindly permit to go back home, learning is beyond my ability. I would not like to waste your precious time on me anymore" The Guru stll insisted that he should stay and try again. But the boy bid farewell to his Guru and left the place in tears. While he was going back home, he felt thirsty. He saw some womens drawing water from a well. He went to them and asked for some water, while drinking water he noticed fine and smooth hollow marks on the stones of the well. He asked thr womens the reason behind that. They told him that years of continuous rubbing of ropes while drawing water from the well had caused those marks. After this incident the boy thought that "If things as hard as stone can be made smooth and shining by continuous process of rubbing, why can't a slow learner and dull human brain can be polished by continuous effort ? He returned back to his Gurus Ashram. He touched the Guru's feet and explained him what has made him come back. The guru was very pleased to take him back. With his perseverance the boy later became one of the greatest scholars of his time. Moral :- Perseverance is the key to success.
