My first train journey was to Delhi. It was a wonderful trip with my sweet friends. It was a great experience for me. All of us like to travel especially to longer distances. I had never traveled in a train. So it was my first experience in a train.I was so thrilled and waited eagerly for the day to come. That day came on 26th of December.  I was expecting it to be one of the memorable days in my life. I left my house at 2 am in the morning with lots of expectation about the journey. After 2 hours I reached Calicut railway station. Most of my friends and teachers had reached early. I had a mixed feeling of happiness and   fear, because it was my first train journey. Both the parents and teachers gave us some instructions.

All of us were seated in the same compartment. I was so excited. We started our merriment with songs and dance. Two strangers were seated on the opposite seats. Our teachers advised us to behave well,so that our co-passengers were not disturbed. On the way we enjoyed the beauty of the mustard fields. Our train left Kerala and continued its journey from state to state. But still the fields could be seen. I felt as if night came fast. We ate our dinner. The food tasted  special . Then we went to sleep and I dreamt about the coming days.

The next morning when I opened my eyes I saw the beautiful scenes of mountain ranges covered with fog. That sight really refreshed me. I had  great pleasure in irritating my friends  who were sleeping! After  break fast, we continued our entertainment. Our co-passengers  told that they were also interested in our programs and  joined with us. It was a real fun. One of the saddest scenes that I saw during the journey was that of the children who were begging. I realized from my friends that it was a common scene in trains. That sight broke my heart and I felt  sorry for them.

Some children were not ready to accept the money for free.  They cleaned the floor and then came to us for money. For a moment I thought about the luck of those children born in good families. On their innocent faces there were no signs of happiness. They seemed to be more serious about their daily food. As the train was leaving the station, I saw them jumping out to the platform with out any fear. At 12.45 we reached Agra. Then I stepped down to the Agra platform with a heart full of great expectations
