The former India captain shared the definition of experience to the youngsters. He highlighted the importance of learning during matches and tough situations.
“Experience is not playing more matches, the experience is learning from matches. You can play 30 matches and if you don’t learn anything then it is like playing the same match 30 times. But the people who improve and get better are the ones who learn from each and every game, who get to know themselves better,” Dravid quoted in a video posted by CSK on Twitter.
“Whether you win or lose, it is not a day wasted. A lot of times people get disappointed ‘oh we lost the match, we didn’t play well, I scored zero’. But that doesn’t matter, you had an experience, what have you learned from that experience, what have you learned from watching somebody bat, somebody scored a hundred, somebody scored a 90, even if you have not scored runs, you can learn something from watching them, that is what will help you.
“All of you are young, it is a journey, these are just experiences, it is not good and bad, people get disappointed very quickly, what is important is what you learn from them,” the batting great added.
