AIM : to find the density of the given solid

Materials required :

  1. Spring balance
  2. measuring cylinder
  3. water
  4. a solid

Procedure :

  • Measure the weight of the solid with the help of spring balance
  • Find the mass of the solid by dividing it by 9.8 (gravitational acceleration).
  • If it is not in gram then convert it into gram.
  • Now, put water in the measuring cylinder and note down the amount of water present in the cylinder
  • Now put the solid in the cylinder and now note down the reading
  • Subtract the old reading from the new reading and you will get volume of water.
  • Convert it into cubic meters (m³)
  • Now divide the mass obtained by the volume obtained and you will get the density of the solid in g/m³
