AIM : to find the density of the given solid
Materials required :
- Spring balance
- measuring cylinder
- water
- a solid
Procedure :
- Measure the weight of the solid with the help of spring balance
- Find the mass of the solid by dividing it by 9.8 (gravitational acceleration).
- If it is not in gram then convert it into gram.
- Now, put water in the measuring cylinder and note down the amount of water present in the cylinder
- Now put the solid in the cylinder and now note down the reading
- Subtract the old reading from the new reading and you will get volume of water.
- Convert it into cubic meters (m³)
- Now divide the mass obtained by the volume obtained and you will get the density of the solid in g/m³
